>>15282Oh, those famous Jewish confessionals.
>LE CHICKEN, LE CHICKEN!Get new material if you're not going to bother to distinguish types of Jews.
>Oh, but they all work together so it doesn't matterSure, whatever.
It came to mind that some (I won't say all) of the inaccuracies might be intentional since we started off with the idea of le subversive villain re-imagining from a classic story which always just always just outright changes major parts of the story and setting to make it "work" since we're on Re-imagining Villains 112(!) now. This implies some level of self-awareness and I'm not sure why Tatsuya would even do this other than ironybro shielding against being accused of anything more extreme than alt-lite (since he's afraid to say or portray a lot of things) I guess he's always been a FREEZE PEACH advocate and him going "Well, this is what Hollywood would NEVER do" might appeal to that part of his brain even still after all these years (with the actual content being more or less irrelevant to the point.)
It'd be a baffling choice, sure, but a lot of this is already baffling given that this specific arc has lasted like a third of the year already.
>>15285Why is it all dotted out like that, I'm imaging a joke where the text is all asterisks that answer different questions and that's funnier. Also, Sluggo does not live with his uncles,
pox you.

>>15296>>15297What do these ranting types actually want Mario to be portrayed as? Mario from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show(!)? 1993 movie Mario? How do you make a game-accurate Mario? Do you just pull from the RPGs? I still don't see how that'd avoid it turning into a weird The Thief and the Cobbler situation that children would hate.
To anyone legitimately mad about Mario being silly or dumb, I have to ask what they actually expected when they heard "A Mario movie is being made."
The best point these people make is that Girlboss!Peach is slightly tiresome because you could just have her still be the damsel, but more apathetic or sardonic or whatever (like Paper Peach walking out of her cage in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam.
) or have her constantly escaping (like Paper Mario) and being comically high-spirited and nonplussed about it failing. Maybe give her a lot of patience but an explosive temper. It's less broad comedic archetype but it's closer to (some) of the games. I don't know why there seems to be so much emphasis on ACKSHUN but I guess you kind of run out of jokes about Mario being Mario in the first movie.
I guarantee people would have preferred pizza pasta kiddy cartoonland nonsense even though the critics would obviously still pan it.
I don't know if the kids like it as much as they could and the fanboys are dying on the hills of it not respecting the source material (which is completely nebulous and comically subjective) or defending it because it has references4thefans. No matter what, a Mario movie is going to be lowbrow junk, I think they made a movie that was more popular than the execs than the public but… it's still popular enough with the public. I think drawing a line in the sand about this being a battleground for the culture war or some death knell for the artistic integrity of interpretations is dumb. Nintendo, alone, if they had infinite resources, would never make a movie adaptation of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. They'd be sillier and it'd probably be an original story.

It should be the opposite or have the caveat of one of the wives having many children so you get a setting full of many-mothered children, the social implications of which I think would be interesting.

Beyblades were these things as kids that we had and thought we thought were cool but even as kids we were like "This is going to die out so fast" and then it did but somehow it's held on by a thread and has made a resurgence?
Also, this might be my physics illiteracy but I don't really think the little ripcords to manipulate your tops are all that good of an idea objectively speaking since whatever movement you're doing with it is causing friction and then you're manipulating it to move a certain way which certainly slows it down and I just can't possibly imagine it being advantageous to be "aggressive" except in weird edgecases so what you have are just… tops… that occasionally hit each other… I don't get it.
"Apparently" there's intricate engineering going into their designs so that's something, I guess.
