FROM THE DESK OFROSE LALONDE
So many on the Dissident Right in America were actually quite receptive towards Russia at the start of the war in Ukraine, because they saw everything leading up to this conflict to be just a thinly veiled attempt to spread yet more "gay race communism" to another country on the periphery of a West which had been thoroughly hijacked by Progressives.
âWe helped topple the Ukrainian government and then incited a war with Russia so we could queer the Donbassâ was the logic.
And in contrast to this, Russia was seen as a countervailing force against Progressivism. It was the last European country to be insulated from the modern Neo-Marxist Left because, paradoxically, it had been dominated by the older Marxist Left for 80 years and thus was spared the corrosive social effects of Liberal modernity even as it suffered under the corrosive economic effects of Communism.
This gave some on the Dissident Right the idea that Russia, having been spared from DEI, transgenderism, replacement migration, oikophobia, and anti-White hatred, could actually be the savior of the West by defeating it in Ukraine. A Russian victory on the battlefield would end the relentless foreign policy objective of the EU and NATO to export Wokeism abroad, and once that train had been halted, its aura of inevitability would crumble, leading to an unraveling of the entire project and a return to an older more traditional Europe that loved itself rather than the modern Europe that appears hell-bent on suicide.
When you frame things this way, that the West is irredeemably captured by an ideology that seeks to weaponize the resources of the West to spread itself across the globe even as it dissolves the West itself from within, itâs easy to understand why so many in the Dissident Right were Russophiles in 2022.
But what has happened since then?
Right-wing Westerners found out that Russians are militantly anti-West, not merely anti-Progressive. Even worse, theyâre pro-Third World and pro-Islam. Virtually without exception, Russian public figures are almost universally arrayed against the West as a concrete civilization with a concrete people.
Theyâre not fighting an ideological war against race communism like so many on the Right originally thought, they are perpetuating one… just of a slightly different variation than our Progressive parasites here at home.
They donât see themselves as belonging to Western Civilization, despite being settled by Norse Vikings over a thousand years ago and adopting Orthodox Christianity in the early Middle Ages. They see themselves as a distinct Eurasian Civilization locked in a struggle with the West.
Just listen to what Alexander Dugin has to say about the West, about Europe, and about America compared to what he says about India. Itâs clear he views his role in politics and his home countryâs place in history not as one to save the West from itself, but rather as one to defeat and ultimately destroy it.
Well, thatâs great if the only thing you care about is ensuring that Progressives lose, but what about the rest of us who have nowhere else to call home? No other civilization or inheritance to call our own?
Thatâs why so many on the Right have turned against the Russians over the last few years.
The lesson here is that thereâs no outside force coming to save us. You canât put your faith in external actors to come ârescueâ Western Civilization from Progressive lunacy.
Russia or China or Iran or anyone else in the world who opposes the West are not your friends. Theyâre not interested in liberating you from gay race communism. Theyâre not âon your sideâ.
No one is. The only one who will ever be on your side is you.
The Right must learn to take its own side instead of hoping and praying that someone else out there will take their side for them.

My sluggish brain is thinking of a thought about Tavros and how him being crippled is sort of the opposite of Terezi being blinded. Everything about him says that he wants to be dicking around outside, his Dreamself has legs, there's even the parallel with his rocketchair and his Lusus, even his Ancestor is tied back into it… It just kind of begs the question why Vriska would cripple her pet project in the first place. Her mindcontrolling him to get brutalized by the FLARP constructs(?) would have made more of a point about him and his capabilities or whatever. I can't view it as anything other than bad writing.
Moreover, I can go on a tangent that with the context that Vriska most definitely had with Terezi's Lusus- you could say that was an act of manipulation to both punish her and create a sense of fondness between them. Weird troll shit. You can almost see a route where Vriska fights and kills Tavros and then puts him on his Quest Bed thus giving him flight (symbolically important to him) while giving him a reason to strike back against her. This feels like a very logical route for the story to take. Instead, Tavros gets an inflated ego from robot legs and Vriska just kind of impulsively kills him even though he was no real threat to her. I'm not sure why we got this instead of the other thing. Maybe it's because all of the content with Tavros kind of runs counter to the other Vriska narratives so it was split in Jr's mind and he didn't have a clear conception on what to do. You could still have Tavros, after God-Tiering in the manner I mentioned, try to kill Vriska, because she said she was going to fight Bec Noir, and have it be a Heroic death. Him being God-Tier makes his status as a non-threat nebulous so maybe that's the real reason- it's just to show that Vriska can be self-defeating but we already get so much of that with the idea of even fighting Bec Noir in the first place and the conversation with John and Terezi about that. Maybe the only reason we didn't get it is that he thought it was funnier if he just got cockier because of robot legs and his imaginary friend and he didn't want the universe deeming Tavros "Heroic."

I'd argue that maybe this line of thought is what lead to the clock wankery soon after but that's pure speculation. Maybe the more meaningful possible chain of events never crossed Hu¹¹ie's mind.
>Oh, what, Vriska can't be an impulsive psycho? Listen, we really don't have much to work with so when this (the crippling) is one of the big character moments and it's kind of incongruent with (one of) the very "told-not-shown" central character motive(s), it's hard to swallow.
>He didn't decide so Vriska saw fit to punish him however she wantedAgain, wouldn't the other route be more fitting for her ethos?
It's hard not to see this as Vriska not being fully realized and moreover, her being her first self (needlessly cruel and petty) and not her other ones (the one that wants someone to stand up to her or the one that wants to be the hero but also admires heroics in general)
Tavros would have displayed the traits that she admired in John if she had him keep on keeping on instead of crippling him.
>This is character development on Vriska's endAlright, that's enough out of you, voice-I-put-in-my-head, that doesn't make any sense and isn't plausible.

Although her portrayal in the comic corroborates this, it's sort of a trope for mind-controlled characters to have a resemblance to their existing personality so it's not especially clear (Woodstock's writing is so bad by this point that you can be forgiven in thinking we doing a Saturday morning action toon bit here.) The retarded part is "How did the Condesce even know this would be enough and why would she care to give
GREEN this much autonomy" I can understand Jane's mindcontrol being a "filters turned off" way because it's technobabble and subliminal messaging and whatever.
GREEN is under direct control of the Condesce due to Bec parts. If she had made her a puppet, things would have gone a lot differently. The second dumb thing is the commentary's word-of-God about Just. So, from the author PoV, doing bad deeds isn't enough for a death to be Just. If they're compromised somehow, it's a toss-up… I forget where I was going with this, just know that it bothers me…

Also, is the clock not a

This would still keep Vriska's death ambiguous. This would also mean he wouldn't have to contrive stupid mind control scenarios to have more God-Tier deaths.
(The only real reason I can think of is that having the clock come to a conclusion while under duress is a more surefire way to get people to argue whether the clock was right or not.)

) like the Beta Trolls' deaths being done too fast to be judged.
I thought he only showed up in God-Tier when Meenah and Vriska dueled and I thought that came earlier (because it's so insubstantial, I forgot what it was even about) and that Hu¹¹ie didn't do the sprites for that for whatever reason and that would be the explanation. But, no, it seems like Hu¹¹ie personally included a God-Tier Tavros.
>>33230It would still have the same implication if Spades destroyed the clock. Instead, we save that bit for the very end where Caliborn destroys it for some random reason (yes, it's dramatic irony, yes, he's meant to be stupid. But that's not a reason. Does he even know what it does? If so, how? The lack of on-screen interaction between Doc, Caliborn, and Lord English is baffling because they all time travel to the point of being omnipresent. Karkat's rants tend to be boring and repetitive (I wonder what the count of Karkat describing how angry he is is at when you take the entire comic into consideration), Terezi is used as comic relief relatively sparingly and I don't think he'd land all bits if he used her more, Tavros is ironically too cartoony for the humor to work. Gamzee is the one furthest from his potential because of his extremely limited mother
smurfing miracle of a vocabulary and the joke that he's basically a troll Mormon not being leaned into (let's not even begin to think about "MURDERCLOWN LMAO.") Ironically, Eridan is probably where Hu¹¹ie was the best fit which is ironic considering how little he used him though that might be part of the reason why he's the funniest troll."
Actually, I might take it back and consider it Kanaya, she too could have been funnier if her slavish dedication to learning social conventions was portrayed differently. I consider Gamzee and Nepeta non-factors while Kanaya logs are actively tedious to read.

N1GG3R vent piece about the western world you might stumble across on the Internet are only the reverberated echoes of what James Baldwin told of his experience about living in some Swiss village more than seventy years ago:
>"But there is a great difference between being the first white man to be seen by Africans and being the first black man to be seen by whites. The white man takes the astonishment as tribute, for he arrives to conquer and to convert the natives, whose inferiority in relation to himself is not even to be questioned; whereas I, without a thought of conquest, find myself among a people whose culture controls me, has even, in a sense, created me, people who have cost me more in anguish and rage than they will ever know, who yet do not even know of my existence. The astonishment with which I might have greeted them, should they have stumbled into my African village a few hundred years ago, might have rejoiced their hearts. But the astonishment with which they greet me today can only poison mine."
>"And this is so despite everything I may do to feel differently, despite my friendly conversations with the bistro ownerâs wife, despite their three-year-old son who has at last become my friend, despite the saluts and bonsoirs which I exchange with people as I wwalk, despite the fact that I know that no individual can be taken to task for what history is doing, or has done. I say that the culture of these people controls meâbut they can scarcely be held responsible for European culture. America comes out of Europe, but these people have never seen America, nor have most of them seen more of Europe than the hamlet at the foot of their mountain. Yet, they move with an authority which I shall never have; and they regard me, quite rightly, not only as a stranger in their village but as a suspect latecomer, bearing no credentials, to everything they haveâhowever unconsciouslyâinherited."
>"For this village, even were it incomparably more remote and incredibly more primitive, is the West, the West onto which I have been so strangely grafted. These people cannot be, from the point of view of power, strangers anywhere in the world; they have made the modern world, in effect, even if they do not know it. The most illiterate among them is related, in a way that I am not, to Dante, Shakespeare, Michelangelo, Aeschylus, Da Vinci, Rembrandt, and Racine; the cathedral at Chartres says something to them which it cannot say to me, as indeed would Newâ Yorkâs Empire State Building, should anyone here ever see it. Out of their hymns and dances come Beethoven and Bach. Go back a few centuries and they are in their full gloryâbut I am in Africa, watching the conquerors arrive." No.33394

No road whatever will lead Americans back to the simplicity of this European village where white men still have the luxury of looking on me as a stranger. I am not, really, a stranger any longer for any American alive. One of the things that distinguishes Americans from other people is that no other people has ever been so deeply involved in the lives of black men, and vice versa. This fact faced, with all its implications, it can be seen that the history of the American Negro problem is not merely shameful, it is also something of an achievement. For even when the worst has been said, it must also be added that the perpetual challenge posed by this problem was always, somehow, perpetually met. It is precisely this black-white experience which may prove of indispensable value to us in the world we face today. This world is white no longer, and it will never be white again.">>33396Also, Africa already had its "anime/K-pop moment" and it is called rap.

Alligators are actually very interesting animals and considerably different from crocodiles. Alligators have a U shaped head and an overbite while crocodiles have a V shaped head without an overbite. Alligators are also capable of a unique bellowing sound that crocodiles cannot make. Another interesting fact about alligators is that there's only two members of the alligator family: the American alligator, and the considerably smaller Chinese alligator which may have served as the inspiration for dragons in Asia. Chinese alligators are sometimes referred to as earth or mud dragons.

They clung around for like 12 years and never thought to make their own order of the Order-of-The-Stick-like. They had something going with Web Soup even though it's like The Soup and The Soup eventually started doing Internet stuff and that aired only THREE (3) days after Tosh.0. They could have had something, they really should have done "Internet talkshow" sooner but they were beaten to the punch just barely and ran into a competitor with like, a somewhat established comedian guy. Then Ridiculousness came in 2011 and like, yeah, what's G4 gonna' do
They were really starved for original programming and the shit they picked up was really sporadic and weird. Like, Thunderbirds and COPS? I don't know why they didn't try to pick up MST3000, that fit the vibe. Next best thing, did they ever play public domain B movies? I don't think so. I don't remember that. I really don't know what the
smurf they were playing for the majority of their runtime and how the
smurf they stayed afloat for so long with it.

War. WAR, I say, against the "Toonami Adult."

Also, I saw something on Steam the other day that made me want to kvetch about how lame "VGH, METAL" shit is when it's only boomer thrash metal levels of "extreme" again. Everyone makes is desensitized to blood. Something needs to be getting gutted or some tits have to be flopping out to actually cross the threshold into what is meaningfully "METAL"
It is time for your daily reminder that "VGH, METAL" shit (meaning heavy, thrash, power, and proto-death) is pretty eye-rolling in general and BrĂŒtal Legend and Metalocalypse are exceptions mostly just due to bias. "That kind of guy" though is inexcusable. What's worse is that they have a sense of irony now and pump out those shitty skeleton memes. Saw a Gen-X biker with a jacket with a skeleton doing

that said "Just know that before you comment on me IDGAF what you think" and man, did I want that guy raped.
I wanted to say that if Dave were made today, he might be a metalhead hipster instead but that implies some level of cultural awareness that I don't think Hu¹¹ie ever had. I think Dave was just rap because Hu¹¹ie made AIDs and white guy rap is lame, I don't think there was much thought given to the subcultural dynamics of shit like nerdcore. The ironic rap scene is still bigger (,and bigger than it was,) than hipster metal stuff like blackgaze. I guess it's fun to think of. Nig Dave? Completely obliterated from existence. Would all the Tumblr girlies still fawn over him if he was a dungeon synth ninny?

I guess it would make his musical pairing with
GREEN make more sense.

>>33820I really can't understand the appeal of horses to girls without going on about the obvious. I guess they're like the ideal of being untamed and wild and grazing without being fat pieces of shit like cows? You'd think wolfs would appeal more and yeah, there are wolfaboos but the horse subculture has not been completely absorbed by them. I just don't get it. Horses, to me, are such grotesque animals with their alien heads and overly muscular physique. They are far from cute which is what little girls like most things to be. That's why anime donkeys look nothing like actual ponies- it's the only way for them to be cute.
