I umm uhh
here's a poem
about boats
gemini wrote it
knock knock
loiter
drawing in circles
predator
warm well
well worn
imagine underneath yourself a set of rags torn
creak creak
oh well
oh hell
creak creak
hi sailor!
I'm theseus' ship
I heard you rock the boats well?
and you know?
often rides the surface of the waves a working vessel
but only when the load's not too heavy
then it sinks underneath
down to the bottom
so if you put too much weight on it
it'll spiral uncontrollably
and once it's that deep all that goes is fluids overwhelming the whole thing
that's not very sailor-like of you to intend now
and who said you can anchor there?
how many waves do you think this hull can swallow?
oh well
creak creak
oh sailor
oh well
why did you come all the ways over that ocean so well?
for "conquest"?
"naval combat"??
what do you mean you're "here to colonize us"?
oh well
creak creak
I'm holding tight captain
just don't drown us, for all I care

After a weird dream, I got curious if Rockstar did an anime maid parody.
Looks like they have a "Princess Robot Bubblegum", which is pretty adjacent, but looks very embalmed in a 2009 American comedy writer's room: LOOK AT HER BIG EYES AND TITS LOL

No.31928
>>31927>sprawling empty office space horror movie It's less le office space and more the nature of the place that's scary. Maybe I'm biased since I've never watched Kane's yt Backrooms series prior to this, but in comparison to that one 4chan post that started it all, it was a nicely told interpretation. Both leading actors carried it and the sound design was really good as well, better than most horrorslop IPs. I think my only criticism is the existence of a clichè science organization with dubious intentions, but I guess that thing is sort of inevitable in modern zoomer horror (cough cough SCP).

>>31942>He's not a "nice guy""Nice guy" is a derogatory term, how did you not know this by now
>the point was that he felt entitled enough to Nikki due to his own one sided feelings Oh, like nice guys which have been dunked on for well over a decade which we're now getting movies about because Hollywood is always about ten years late. I'm sick of this idpol shit in horror. I guess Ex Machina (more of a thriller but whatever) was the start of this because the movie seemed to ask the question "Well, did she truly pass as a human? Was this the human decision to make?" (clueless) when really, I guess it was what the writer said in an interview "Yeah, that rando deserved to starve to death because he objectified her too, lmao" I guess it can be both but… whatever.
>Bwo, horror was always (maybe, sometimes) politicalYeah, but this petty shit is more insufferable, why are we getting 40-somethings making indie horrors about petty Twitter squabble culture shit now. It's always some vindictive spite piece of how "type of CURRENT YEAR guy" is a piece of shit and/or wamen empowerment. Stuff like Land of The Dead is fun to mock because it's so blunt and retarded. And a lot of the time the commentary was more universal (Land of The Dead still serving as an example) as opposed to something that'll be dated in 20 years like "muh techbros." I guess it'll pass with time, maybe I'd be annoyed by buck Fush shit if I was older back then and I wouldn't see it as endearingly dumb and myopic. But right now it reminds me of the endless
smurfing bickering on the mainstream Internet that I just want to escape from.
>but he had a chance of walking it back by killing himself or killing Nikki, of which he constantly pussied out.>Dude, just kill yourself or someone else, it's that easy, lmaowwhat wwould be so bad- wwhats so bad about being wwith me
is so blatant it's embarrassing. You can argue that he's basically been mindbroken at that point but come on now.
>So you don't find that extreme bluntness funny?I mean, no, I guess I do find it farcical but it just confirms to me where the movie came from and that's annoying. Perhaps in 10 years, if culture has somehow moved past 2019 idpol endless whinging, we could find a laugh in how heavy-handed things like this are.

Why does Fobby still use his old ass synthset when he could hire real people to do the instrumentation? He's done it before. I think it's just vanity. Nothing he does is that eclectic, complicated, distorted, whatever. Bring in some real instruments and smurf around with acoustics. At the very least, you'd hear more of the tone in the classic instruments he uses. I know someone might argue that a lack of tonality is a part of his "style" but it really isn't. Have you had working a work with 5+ people involved? And if it's 50? And if it's 500?
And now imagine it when you need to manage it, but it's not a swarm of monofunction drones have literally one job to do with possible breaks and pauses within this inner society and having an examply of pure absolute nothing on the outside, that cannot affect your supervised unit anyway, but instead of that imaine there's human beings with a real world could attack with absolutely every type and ammount of sudden happeningto those people and via them toward you directly? And imagine this, but with a financial penalty, time loss and jurisdictional shenanigans you might get? It is basically what I thought it was after reading fanboys. I think I've looked it up before. But this isn't stuff you really need to think too hard on or have outside resources. Basic conjecture is all you need to get the gist.
All in all, it's still ultimately "vague so you don't really focus on it" (and if I were to speculate, generate some otaku appeal. That's what it did, at least That element is part of the reason why the show is so popular, it casts a wide net) and serves "the feeling."
But to tie it back in, shit in Woodstock is deliberately disorienting just for you to go "Oh, I guess that's clever." We can say that classpects are never explained because it would distract away from all these things but does Woodstock really have a character focus? Not really. If anything, it compromises characters for gags and twists and motifs and I don't know, just anything. Yes, the story is bad but it's amazing how little character interaction matters in Woodstock; it is not full of "character moments."

probably gawks and thinks very little of something like Evangelion, probably without actually having ever watched it. Not the least because of its bluntness in its true emotional core (which he'd know through osmosis) but Mr. "It's a coming-of-age story" is equally guilty even if it's all word-of-God and not the story itself. The characters can't express this because it's all irony-laden and really, what would they say that feels earned- "we didn't pick what people wanted us to be but we outgrew that" I mean, that is kind of said multiple times in the comic by characters that went nowhere (and perhaps that's deliberate but
smurf that. I've entertained the theory that giving up expectations for yourself is the real "core" of Woodstock as it tries to rationalize itself.) But it also has a confusing relationship with destiny. I digress, the Dirk-Dave conversation is the last one in the comic and all it amounts to is "Life is messy, lol!" Nevermind plotting or presentation or whatever, it ultimately just amounts to what would feel meaningful for anyone to say. It's obvious in Evangelion. What could Dave say that'd feel meaningful to the audience? "I didn't need to be a hero, I just needed to be a good person." Everyone would have thought that was retarded. So everything just kind of tip-toes around it. It's a very obvious ending in a lot of ways but it stops short of actually saying things because none of it would have resonated with people. And I don't think

would have "felt" any of it while writing it, I think he ultimately, even by the end, still wrote something he was comfortable with which is why the ending is so guarded and ultimately underpinned by some dramatic irony because of Caliborn's Masterpiece. Dave asks why they're so awesome and it's clear the dude has only grown in regards to Bro which, I guess, is something you could say is a long time coming but I'd rather say "It already essentially happened twice" without much meaningful escalation (theoretically, someone who likes Woodstock would contest this.)

I don't know, it got my brain stirring.

"Karkat? Basically an afterthought. Meant to be the archetypal troll alongside Terezi. Him being burnt out and prickly because of every troll being
smurfing insane, murder being fairly normalized, and there being hatelove is something that comes out later and makes him a complete (and good, before the fall,) character. (I'd say Karkat only stopped being Karkat after he let Gamzee
wwalk free. Karkat not killing Gamzee but pacifing him is completely in-character because he takes troll social etiquette deathly seriously. It's only the fact that he lets him
smurf around afterwards instead of locking him in the stupid fridge or at least monitoring him that it feels like a spit in the face of Karkat and the audience.)
Gamzee? Complete afterthought. I forget when the bloodline thing was mentioned but that's the extent of him.
Terezi? Fairly well-realized on introduction, it's basically all downhill from here for her. She really leads the charge in showing how dystopian and warped troll society is so we can kind of thank her for that.
Sollux? Complete afterthought. Plot device. I forget when the “I can hear the souls of the future dead” thing comes up- isn't it in the walkaround before Murderstuck? I feel like it's immediately set up and resolved.
Tavros? I guess, basically complete from the beginning. You get his deal of “Wow, you can't force this dude to do anything because he's so flaky” and he lets Vriska
wwalk all over him and that's basically how he stays for all of the comic.
Aradia? Afterthought. Plot device. Got “fun” developments of changing personalities three times.
Nepeta? I guess completely established since her unrequited love for
Karkat is basically her core conflict. But she's not much.
Vriska? I've been over this. Basically switches character concepts three times (while staying in the same body and having no real explanation, unlike Aradia) because she was the author's pet because he thought she was funny and she got a big reaction from the audience.
Equius? Probably the best realized character upon his introduction (and definitely one of the most realized characters in the comic as whole.) His conflicts are made clear, his characterization doesn't warp, he's centered in the world before his introduction, and he does things that are relevant to him with varying degrees of importance. This is because he's a Hu¢¢ie self-insert so more care was put into him.
Kanaya? Complete afterthought. Plot device.
Eridan? Well-realized but you can kind of tell Hu¢¢ie isn't going to do anything meaningful with him (No, I don't consider the flip-out meaningful to him as a character.)
Feferi? Same as Eridan, cutely enough. That feeling that their core traits and goals won't affect the story is overwhelming here; that's why Eridan and Feferi are “afterthoughts.”
So that's 6/12 or 9/12 of the trolls (depending on your definition; do you think their observable use to the plot, other characters, and world is key? Nepeta, Eridan, and Feferi then count as “afterthoughts” since Nepeta does nothing and it was immediately apparent that neither Eridan nor Feferi's “things” would matter in the grand scheme of the comic since they were introduced so late and didn't have that many- or even any at all, I forget- logs before their introduction. Yes, they “do things” but the creation of dreambubbles is a token moment so that Feferi isn't completely useless and Eridan taking Feferi and himself out is essentially a null outcome. Neither are really related to their core characterization, I'd argue. Eridan is somewhat cowardly but again, let's beat a dead
HORSE, the murder arc sucks. And yes, they do do other things but nothing that'd justify them existing beyond the quota.) that are basically afterthoughts. Only Tavros and Equius came out of the oven as fully realized characters that didn't get radically altered by future context (like the existence and prevalence of FLARP) Terezi was a fully realized character that got bogged down by her future usage (she tricked Dave into getting himself killed but she's sad about it, BAAAAAAAAWWWW) Of those three, only two get a character arc and one of them is literally caused by fusing with another character while the other is technically wrong (since it's a different Terezi- I guess she just didn't get to act on an impulse and then that was the change needed to completely change a relationship?) and also effectively wrong because of how poorly it's written. Such so that I refuse to acknowledge it as an actual character arc.

Tavros got a story arc. That's different. "

I did the THWP! thing with my hand to my mom and explained that it was the Spiderman which prompted more Odysseus commentary. "The actor was in the Odyssey, he was terrible. Terribly miscast. Just why- why is this comedian a character? I would have preferred no-names." I think my dad saw me do it and decided to get me this poster for whatever reason. I swear, I'm still like 14 in their eyes.
I saw Spiderman: Brand New Day: I give it 7 XLRs out of 7 XLRs.

Consensus:
Pros:
Spiderman is the best superhero ever and I'm da' numbah' one Spiderman fan in the world
(09dev reference)The crowd was full, even now, the people want to see Spiderman.
Spiderman is suffering and gets 君子ed. THIS IS A GOOD THING.
Hero saves people. We like that, folx.
Yelena shows up. I like Yelena.

I was a bit skeptical on Jon Bernthal (just because of how he looks) as Punisher but he does a good performance and while it's not the Frank Castle I have in my head, it's still a fine interpretation.
I'm coming around on Tom Holland as Spiderman. The biggest problem is that he looks like a twink in the suit and not in the usual good, twunk way that makes art of Venom raping Spiderman hot. He's not as jocular as he needs to be (Raimi's wasn't either which was one of the few chinks in the adaptation), he's still a little bit of a nervous Nelly but that's intentional. I see why they cast a eunuch like Tom Holland for the role because he does have "the Spiderman voice" now(?) but also because the entire MCU Spiderman series is essentially an extended origin for the Spiderman we all know and love and the film implies he's still growing. I get (((the plan))) now, I see the vision. A lot of people have a lot of expectations for Spiderman and that's in part due to the Raimi films but also he's THE hero of Marvel and so they're working up to a point where he can be THE HERO of the MCU. The spider evolution thing is also a way to powerscale him to actually being Spiderman because this movie makes it clearly that he's not quite actually Spiderman in terms of power. (1) The spider evolution thing coming from Tom Holland who probably liked the element of symbolism originally planned by Spielberg (another penny's worth of contribution to making things better for Spielberg;
smurf you, Spielberg.)(2)
Boomer consensus is high with my mom going that she liked it because it "had a lot of detail" and later said she really liked it and my dad obligatorily asked me if stuff was from the comics and said "he's a better Spiderman than a Greek.) My mom also said that the movie was exhausting and that it made her miss unique and said it made her go "No, New York, I miss you."
Homely sort of girl-next-door vibe ginger which I guess is some kind of boner direction.

Mark Ruffalo is starting to just look like The Hulk now as his normal self due to coke bloat which I guess is synchronous casting.
The villain is a
smurfing HORSE.

Ends on an epic Ned moment.

Cons:
Due to the nature of A FUCKING FOOD in movie theaters and two SELFISH PSYCHOPATHIC JOCKS ducking to go pee during the cinema playing, my viewing experience was COMPROMISED.
Zendaya still exists. I've partially avoided this series because of her presence and how much I disliked her in the first movie. Even the promise of Toby wasn't enough to lure me back, seeing this was kind of just a whim and it's
wweird how successful it is. (I think, despite one very wise man's words about it only being popular for having The Punisher in it, people are legitimately invested in this sort of long-scale arc they've been working at.) I'm hoping they're keeping around just so they can kill her off in the most violent way possible to traumatize Spiderman and to make way for the real Mary Jane since she's technically not her. My theory is that the Hollywood Jews are desperately searching for an age-appropriate hot redhead that's down with the clan since not many can match the pure sexo of Kirsten Dunst.
I could complain about plotholes, MCU humor, and the required gobbledygook you need to watch in order to fully appreciate the film but there's really only one glaring problem with the movie that I consider legitimate (in terms of loosely enjoying slop) and that is Jean Grey. I get her not giving a shit about collateral damage but she is deliberately cruel, sadistic, and vindictive. I get that she's an X-Menmin and they're allowed to get away with being terrible people because of trauma but she really goes above and beyond.
>"You're not a killer"Mother
smurfer, there was a shot of a rando getting rammed by a taxi after she mindjacked them. That's only the most blatant example of her killing without regard (she also threatens MJ with death), I'm sure there's more if I go frame-by-frame. Also, yes, Spiderman would rescue her after knowing what they'd do to her but would he let her off scot-free after the constant (and frankly, kind of stupid), extremely callous public endangerment she put everyone through without telling anyone her goals (
mewl, it's Spiderman, TELL YOUR GOAL TO SPIDERMAN)? Hell no. But maybe it's because this is baby Spiderman. But she kind of just ruins away which feels antithetical to what even this baby Spiderman would want.
Also, holy shit, the power scaling, this is like Phoenix Force Jean Grey and this is how she's starting out. The original appeal of Jean Grey was that she was sort of a girl-next-door type that all the guys wanted to bang because there was no else and she seemed simple and easy. That's what made the juxtaposition with Phoenix Force Jean Grey. But I guess she's starting as a #damaged psycho. The first X-Man in MCU and she's like that, I guess they're all going to be nutjobs which is probably why they're going to go to conflict whoever whenever (Doomsday) I feel like that'd be tedious to watch.
(1) He struggles to open a tank.
Smurf you, Spiderman would not be mortally wounded from a high-caliber sniper round. But I guess it's because he's not fully Spiderman yet. How'd that get through the psychic barrier? Hey, shhh, don't think about it.
(2) That being said, I don't think I could ever find this Spiderman intimidating which even Fobby pulled off.
I guess it's very MCU and modern but I don't like Spiderman having a Latinx (She's not actually, but I'll keep saying it) AI track crime for him and him having a Commissioner Gordan. Long gone are the quaint days of just patrolling the city freestyle and trying to outrace cop cars…
Had to experience the time-tested exchange of a boomer speaking with a certain overwrought cadence that puts emphasis on the last words of a sentence. My father exclaimed and a grocer mumbled a full second before that three actors in this movie were "In The Odyssey"

Terezi isn't completely terrible past her introduction, the COOLK1D chat is fun and her tricking John into dying is good and SOME of her interactions with Karkat are fine (while others are embarrassing.) She's not played for laughs enough, she doesn't get enough time to shine as someone who's, supposedly equally, if not more psychotic than Vriska, and that the drama that plays out with her is terrible and is at the expense of her characterization. (Hence Tumblr backlash that she became whining-about-boys the character which led to Hu¢¢ie taking a step back and doing you-know-what with her.)
>The one thing I keep wondering about is if Equius turned out as well as he did in part due to the fact he is the "self-insert" Hu¢¢ie had the most restraint withHe's the one that he had a strong concept for that lent well to jokes. Doc's "evil narrator" thing is inherently self-indulgent and Dirk's splinters aren't funny. Caliborn is also "good" but he's impossible to take seriously, unlike Equius. >He and Tavros had the best handled deaths in Murderstuck tooThey're the only deaths that make any semblance of logical and dramatic sense though Karkat not sending Equius to smash Eridan's face into pulp instead of Gamzee (when Equius shows obvious hesitation about being able to even try to fight) because "his romantic advances make him uncomfortable" is blisteringly stupid. This and him forgiving Gamzee makes it really hard not to actively hate Karkat because it feels like he went out of his way to send two people he didn't like off to die.
It should have been written that Equius goes off to kill Eridan and Gamzee intercepts them. Why this wasn't what Hu¢¢ie wrote is a legitimate mystery but maybe Karkat's stupidity and/or malice is meant to be funny. It's not but Hu¢¢ie does consider Murderstuck "the funniest part of the entire comic."

There are more poignant examples of this out there but take a look at pic related; were it not for the top post, you wouldn't be able to tell whether it is about the comic or the movie. The
TRICKSTER makes it too obvious he hasn't read the former anyway.
I think I saw some simpleton once say "Rorschach having a Christian Bale Batman voice is a mistake because it plays into the idea that he's cool", which is
smurfing retarded. Rorschach having a Christian Bale Batman voice is lame not because it "makes him look too cool" or whatever, but because it paints the idea he is in a constant state of untapped anger instead of feeling

Rorschach having a Christian Bale Batman voice is lame not because it "makes him look too cool" or whatever, but because it paints the idea he is in a constant state of untapped anger instead of feeling practically dead insideHis voice is described as monotone verbatim in the comic. Jackie Earle Haley was a big fan of the comic and character so I think it's 100% Synder's direction that's to blame. That aside, I still think he gives a really good performance (I prefer him to Bale's Batman because
smurf Nolan Batmans even more) and the movie was really well-cast. I've gone on record saying that it's probably the best adaptation of Watchmen you could do which is to say that Watchmen can't be adapted. Might be nostalgia because I only got the comic because of the movie and was like "oh this is so much better" but it was above my head and so I put off reading it for a couple of years and then loved it. Unfortunately, this kind of puts me into multiple camps that Moore dislikes but that's besides the point. (I was infatuated with the "idea" of the story because of how dark it was and I still identify with Rorschach though I'm self-aware and actually understand the character)

I don't get how zoomzooms criticize things. It's always just "I'M SILLY" voice of things that happen or are elements of whatever they're
mewling about. I'm used to it on 4chan where being overly-dismissive is the norm but this feels different. They put good faith, benefit of the doubt, and critical thinking into things they like (even if they're talking about a flaw or something they don't like about it) but everything they don't like seems to completely baffle them and make them just talk in question marks. I'd take Tumblrtalk's disingenuous rhetoric over just "bro" any day.

I remember when Sollux's quote was his little quip about not asking about disability and mortality. The Wiki (I checked it for a quick look at Sollux's sprite) seems to have gone through a progressive effort of ENDEEPENING where they make characters seem more complex than they actually are and update character descriptions to better fit the "narrative" (as in, what the author wants you to believe was always the case, what is being told to you, not actual story or character developments)
Post-canon is infecting the fandom's perception, especially secondaries.

SPOILER ALERT: I WANT ROW AND ME[rojo]X TO ACTUALLY PLAY THIS SO DON'T READ THE SPOILER[/rojo]

I finally finished another night-time RPGMaker horror game. I thought it was fairly obscure but there's a Manly Badass Hero Let's Play so that makes it an automatic "No. It's not that obscure."
Unfortunately, she does not keep her gothic funeral outfit through the whole thing which would have made it true

core
This was a fun (not)J-Horror experience because the purple (and sometimes awkward) prose and vocabulary choices alongside some improper grammar and other typos made it a truly stupefying experience. I kind of hoped the video I was watching wouldn't show the credits so that I was left in the dark on where it came from and how. I couldn't tell if it was originally Japanese or some kind of European language and poorly translated or just written by a European ESL. I got spoiled, ultimately, and found out it was originally CHINESE (from Taiwan) and then Japanese and then English. If I was to assume something, which I'm going to do, I get the feeling that this was translated from the Japanese version to English. Granted, this is coming from someone who knows basically nothing about any of these languages or linguistics in general so Japspergs, please watch/play and give your consensus.

(Part of the reason I think this is that the RPG Maker community and RPG Maker horror community is bigger in Japan and so it's bigger with people who can translate Japanese.)
I complain a lot about things not being subtle enough and certainly, a lot of this could come from watching this in like 5 minute increments over about a month and some things being lost in translation but I don't really "get" it. So bravo on that, I guess, I kind of applaud that. The atmosphere is great and the mystery feels compelling instead of annoying. If I were to throw a guess out there on what it's about it's
a neglected child reminiscing about her catatonic mother after her father's death which is pretty stock (PSYCHOLOGICAL!!!!) RPG Horror Maker writing but I think there was a lot that was novel and good in how it was written though it is full of wanky REFRANCES which may or may not be ultimately important. I'm not sure what Faust had to do with all of this, really. I kind of don't want to hear anyone's opinion on it in general(because it'd spoil it to me) besides RoW and
MEX. Its puzzles can be extremely obtuse and I don't know if either of you are patient and clever enough for them. There's also the equivalent of RPG Maker pixel hunting which is kind of a staple in all RPG Maker horror below the completely mainstream (Ib, Ao Oni, Corpse Party, Mad Father, Ann, Uri games etc)
Usually, when I do these, I like to keep the game a secret but I'll share its name because I think
MEX personally would enjoy its "vibe" (and could play it in Japanese… I guess…) and RoW could probably illuminate the REFRANCES I don't full grasp. The game's name is Fausts Alptraum. I can link the no commentary Let's Play I used (since those are always kind of hard to find), otherwise, it's on Steam… And I somehow had it in my library already…

Uhhhh…. I'll wait on it until I play it myself because I spoiled everything.

I forgot to talk about the artstyle which ranges from Deviantart (slightly pejorative) to very legitimately good, it's always charming and has a very nice style (though it does remind me of Deviantart; it's just kind of a 2000s emo Deviantart style, a very good one, Deviantart isn't necessarily bad, but it has nostalgic vibes) though and not just because it feels kind of scrappy sometimes (with skittish lines not really adhering to any style or rhyme or reason- that's the worse stuff but it feels amateurishly expressive which is kind of odd because it feels very professionally polished otherwise)
The simple doodles kind of show a mastery of shapes or whatever because it feels like if they were drawn even slightly different, they'd come off as limp or goofy.

It already sort of overlaps with "justice" as do "perseverance" (or "determination" which I get is supposed to be a gestalt but still) and "patience" and I'm really not sure what the color theory behind it was. It's not ROYGBIV/the colors of a rainbow. Why is one cyan and one pink? You can argue the pink is violet, sure, but that doesn't explain the cyan.
Not that baby show is much better because "kindness" encroaches on generosity turf and one of them is literally just magic (friendship.)

One other possible thing is that he avoided the indigo/violet thing because humans tend to view varieties of colors closer to blue as less distinct than varieties of colors closer to red. I don't know if that's psychologically true or not but it makes intuitive sense because we see closer to the red side of the spectrum so I refuse to look it up.
