>>18379Psychological horror has lost all meaning. It basically just means all horror that isn't a slasher.
Cosmic horror, on the other hand, has not lost all meaning but it IS shit and I hate it.

Anyone else get a sense of nostalgia from stock classes and races in fantasy/sci-fi? It feels like THESE DAYS there's a lot of people that put a token effort into making some kind of unique spin on it, something so it's not completely generic but seeing an elf rogue or a dwarf with a warhammer and shield is very comfy. It reminds me of a simpler time of bargain bin genre gaming. Things that felt like they had no problem with being expendable, they have a certain charm that passion projects don't. I guess most people would consider this kind of paradoxical but really, you run the gamut with auteurs and you realize that championing individuality isn't so great because a lot of people are unbelievably dull and are as prone to completely copying things out of passion as a company would do out of cynicical profiteering and there's not much discernible difference in the end product. Anyway, OLD GAEM.

>>18395I disagree, it's mostly a matter of writing quality. Even if you go for the uninspired route this game went for it could be good if the main character is well written and not a retard.
Also I learned that game is ESL, ninny AND Kickstarter (ChatGPT),
grim.

Starting DQ6 in 5 minutes or so
https://twitch.tv/boigahsThis is the first game in the series I know practically nothing about (I guess I didn't know that much about 2, but uhhh it doesn't have much to begin with). I actually tried pirating the DS version as a kid when it came out but it had a really funny antipiracy measure and I stopped caring by the time it was patched.

Uh, "there's no reason not to just buy damage", "it's weird how many abilities are free-cast and not targeted given how mobile the game is and the DoTA 2 lineage" and "I hate the tiny particle effects with unclear range for my autoattacks. The visual clarity in this game is so ass."

We should have really scraped the "beating a dead horse" sticky from RPGCodex. I'd log in to pull it but it has bullshit log-in requirements now. My long dead account LEVELED UP from my old posts getting upvoted though. I know I would I use it for basically every Tatsuya post.

Please ignore the cognitive dissonance of hyper-nationalist movements that claim that their country has been co-opted since forever but this is still uh, the OLD COUNTRY returning and definitely not them making shit up. It's new and excitingly different but definitely still rooted in tradition, you guise.
