>>34208>I think Hitler has transcended existence. If this is your case for defending Tats's willful ignorance of basic political truths then it's pretty weak.

I think just about everyone can agree on some political truths on Hitler without upsetting revisionists of either stripe. Hitler was a national supremacist first and foremost. Then, a genuine anti-Semite and racial supremacist second (though this would have been politically convenient so some might contest this.) I highly doubt anyone would object to these two things. Furthermore, Hitler was more of a pragmatist than an ideologue as basically any leader of a "party government" tends to be. You can see this in the diversity of thought in the Nazi Party. Though, again, like just about every government party leader, there were ideological purges. But this was mostly a means of consolidating power (this might upset Hitlerists or other Nazi types but you could always make the argument that this was completely necessary and people like Röhm were legitimate threats to Hitler's aims and/or greater ideological purity.)
Does anyone really object to this?

The exact ratio of Machiavellians to genuine political actors in the Nazi Party is more contentious. But neither Nazi Germany nor the post-war Allies had such a vicegrip on reality that truth became an illusion. The Nazi Party ruffled enough feathers in Germany that you had historic, measured accounts of dissent by people who had no real reason to explicitly lie.
Don't you believe literally every negative account on the USSR?

I'm feeling like musing on Evangelion for a second. Obviously I'm going to defer to Woodstock as my example- with that, if people think it's any level of good, they should have their media literacy discounted because they lack "proper viewer expectations" of any kind. If they're lukewarm, they didn't really care. If they loved it, they're complete fandumb sheeple who would never willingly leave Mr Bones's Wild Ride. I feel like Eva is a similar litmus test but nostalgia, emotional hang-ups, and contrarianism… Nothing really feels right to say about either side.

I feel like a deeper dive is required into the show and its development is required to answer if all the discourse is meaningful or not- I've dipped my toes. Woodstock should be an obvious-from-the-offset thing as a "No" and I feel like people should be better at recognizing that kind of thing. Then again, saying that would irritate a group of people who don't think anything (or at least Woodstock) deserves that sort of hand-waving. And I do, in part, try to dig into the authorial intent of Woodstock even if I don't think it's remotely coherent or "effective" or good, whatever you want to call it. Here I go again. I'll stop.
New sticker for the bunch?

Getting an idea for an hgame. Things posted in this thread kind of sparked it in my head. Game where you're like an apprentice to a spellsword serious knight lady, and you come from some kind of family that prevents her from reprimanding you. Basically, you have to balance learning from her while also occasionally doing things like pinching her cheeks or smacking her butt. If things get too pervy, it's game over. You have to find a balance between your duties and goofy acts (you're trying to get her to lighten up, not molest her). Your character is meant to grow into a capable man while melting the woman's icy heart.

>>34234>If this is your case for defending Tats's willful ignorance of basic political truths then it's pretty weak. Way to miss the point that the vast majority are also "ignorance of basic political truths".
>I think just about everyone can agree on some political truths on Hitler without upsetting revisionists of either stripe. Noone can agree and everyone is upset. It's just an endless stream of Candace Owens tier low-IQ conspiracism. Often stoked, of course, by
BRICS shills.
>But neither Nazi Germany nor the post-war Allies had such a vicegrip on reality that truth became an illusion."Say that this version of history is correct or we'll send you to jail and/or kill you" is pretty much a "vice grip".
>The Nazi Party ruffled enough feathers in Germany that you had historic, measured accounts of dissent by people who had no real reason to explicitly lie.Never said they didn't.
>Don't you believe literally every negative account on the USSR?Now you're just making shit up about me as an attack. I've actually met people who lived under the Communist bloc and they didn't have reason to lie either. I think I'll trust them over, say, Hasan Piker.
Just about everyone who defends Warsaw Pact society (as a whole - I will concede that there were SOME good things about it, but not many) falls into one of three categories:
>naive and foolish westerners who never lived under communism and uncritically believe communist propaganda>resentful third worlders who never lived under communism and want BRICS to win because they hate the West because colonialism o algo>"Red Diaper Babies" AKA commie glowies (NKVD etc) military officers and party bigwigs and their descendants who will tell you about how good life was for THEIR family under communism (they will omit the part about them being part of the commie nobility) No.34312
This goes for Cuba as well btw
No.34315
>>34311>Way to miss the point that the vast majority are also "ignorance of basic political truths".The first sentence of what you originally said seemingly implied that Hitler was beyond analysis or investigation. None of this addresses what I said about Hitler so I'm assuming you don't disagree with any of it. I will repeat that I don't think the vast majority of people disagree with what I said. I also don't think the vast majority of people believe that Hitler strongly supported Germanic paganism (which Tats does or at least pretends is the case or pretends he strongly enabled it or whatever) nor do the vast majority of people believe that Hitler or the Nazi Party were strongly or deeply Christian. In that sense, public perception is somewhat nuanced since either of those perceptions would be easy to push as a narrative about radicalized "Western culture" but public perception says that Nazi Germany was largely secular with some fringe pagan and occult elements. Even if just by the slimmest of margins, public perception is more nuanced than what I think (YOU) like to believe.
Which I guess begs the question of whether or not you want Hitler to "transcend existence" for whatever reason.
>Noone can agree and everyone is upset.About the things I said?
>"Say that this version of history is correct or we'll send you to jail and/or kill you" is pretty much a "vice grip".But people have still said otherwise and been recorded as such. That's not the kind of thing that pushes anything into a "post-truth" state.
>Never said they didn't.So how has Hitler transcended existence then…?
>Now you're just making shit up about me as an attack.I'm just being deliberately uncharitable as a transition to say that none of this matters because Tatsuya conversations are pointless (you just happened to make an interesting though decidedly silly point.) This sends you on a tangent about the thing you hate when this is about the veracity of history in general. You must have realized that I implied that nothing about the USSR widely acknowledged as being true could be completely fabricated as well. And yet you felt the need to corroborate this.
Whatever, send it.
